Flange connections/Flanged pipes

Flange connections of ductile cast iron to DIN EN 1092-2 for fresh water supply and waste water disposal

Flange connections are used preferably for above-ground pipes, for example in pumping stations, waterworks, pipe basements or upright tanks, but also in underground piping in the area of pipe junctions and intersections. They are positive locking longitudinally, immobile and transmit longitudinal and bending stresses from pipe to pipe.

Flanged pipes are either made from centrifugally-manufactured pipes or cast. In the case of flanged pipes manufactured by centrifugal casting, the flanges are normally welded on, although they can also be bolted on.

Flanged pipes with cast flanges are manufactured using the sand-casting process.

Flanged pipes can be supplied with different sheaths and linings.
